Alma's Restaurant

My husband and I were planning to meet for lunch at Borough Market yesterday, but the freezing weather encouraged us to opt for somewhere indoors. We headed for Alma's Restaurant, a place my husband recommended. And Yum! I'm glad he did, because it really hit the spot.

I went for the ham, pepperoni and cheese calzone. while my husband had a pizza. Our meals were delicious and the portions were gigantic (I took half my calzone home for dinner). Their pastas looked equally as tasty too.

In addition to enjoying the food, it's got that family-run feel and reminds me of something you'd find in New York...that hole in the wall, honest-goodness-family-style thing... it was so warm and cozy (and not all that pretty...but not in an ugly way, if that makes any sense!).

If you're in the Borough Market area, I'd recommend it!
