Flower Birthday Party

Last week my little girl turned four! As is customary we invited her entire class to the party (+ a few other friends)...16 kids + parents! I took a major gamble with the weather as we planned an outdoor flower-themed party. Luckily, the weather held up and it was dry, mild and {mostly} sunny.

I wanted to keep it simple (for my sake), but also tasteful and fun for the kids. Among other simple activities and play, the kids potted flowers to take home and enjoyed the flower pinata.

For the birthday cake we ate Lemon Cream Cupcakes. I made them the night before along with flower shaped sugar cookies. The kids took the sugar cookies home in their party bags, along with their potted flower and goodies from the pinata.

This flower-shaped cookie cutter came in handy not only for the cookies, but for an assortment of flower-shaped sandwiches for the kids. Of course there were party hats, noise blowers, balloons and more food and drink.

I found that using Amazon and Ocado really simplified my life! And suprisingly, I actually had a great time and enjoyed all the pre-party baking, decorating and celebrating. A special thanks to my mother-in-law who was a huge help.

And of course, a very happy birthday to my little girl!
