Pollock's Toyshop

This weekend, I managed to explore London on my own for a few hours. It was exactly what I needed following a week of sick kids. While in Covent Garden, I visited Pollock's Toy Shop, a charming independent vendor of old-fashioned toys and vintage theatres.

It was my first visit to Pollock's and I was very glad to be without kids. The shop is set above Hobbs in the Covent Garden Piazza. A narrow set of stairs leads to a tiny two-room store. It was packed with loads of Christmas shoppers, but with no kids in tow, a fun exploration. Originally established in 1880 by it's namesake Benjamin Pollock, it oozes of old-fashion charm.

There were many lovely items in Pollock's, but what really caught my eye were the traditional music boxes (I do have a 4-year-old girl, after all). The ballerina music box, in particular, was beautiful. And I thought it was a steal at just £10.99...
