The Amalfi Coast
Last spring I was lucky enough to accompany my mother on a trip to the Amalfi Coast. Gorgeous! We enjoyed spending some quality mom/daughter time together... along with delicious food, beautiful sights, and the much-missed sun. Italy is fast becoming one of my favourite countries to visit. Do you have a favourite place to travel?
Here are some of the highlights:
I feel very strongly that good food can take a holiday to the next level. While researching delicious restaurants in Sorrento, we came across Tavern Allegra. Ah, I am still dreaming of the bruschetta! It was a delicious restaurant on all fronts + an authentic, happy ambience with live music. Loved this place.
Gelato from Buonocore Gelateria is delicious.
Don't miss the two-hour walking tour with Australian-turned-local Christine. She's married into the culture and takes you around all the best places in this stunning cliffside town. Her husband runs the butcher's and the taste-testing there was a real highlight. We also dined at Max's while there - very delicious, fine-dining.
We didn't see too much of Naples, but left enough time to pick up some pizza! (Eat, Pray, Love anyone?). I love pizza anywhere in the world, but Pizzeria di Mateo was bounds ahead of all other pizzas I've eaten. It was super cheap too.
