Queen Elizabeth II, by Cecil Beaton

These are two of my favourite photos on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum's special exhibition: Queen Elizabeth II by Cecil Beaton: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration. (The top one is of Queen Elizabeth, and the bottom of the Queen Mother.) The exhibition takes about an hour to view and celebrates Queen Elizabeth's role as a princess, monarch and mother — as photographed by royal photographer Cecil Beaton.

It was so sweet to see those early photos of the Queen with her children.

A lovely morning at one of my favourite museums. The Cecil Beaton photographs will be displayed through April 22. More information about the exhibit here.

The Cecil Beaton photographs are indeed beautiful. It is lovely to see the queen in her youth. (Your second photo is of the Queen Mother as a young woman.)
