I was discussing a potential girls' weekend earlier this week with friends. During the conversation, I learned that the Eurostar will take you from London to Amsterdam in 4 hours 40 minutes! I had no idea! Of course, there is a little layover in Brussels (on most schedules, anyway), but I'd take a train journey over a Gatwick commute and airport security any day!
I'm dying to visit Amsterdam now... it just seems so much easier when planes aren't involved. When I was 17, I visited Europe for the first time with my family. We took trains everywhere — from England to France, Germany, Czech, Switzerland and Italy. Does the Eurail pass still exist? We saw so much this way.
What about you? Trains, planes or automobiles?
